We believe in the abundant potential in people and the land of the Tennessee Valley. So, we seek to cultivate growth from the ground up. We do this every day by teaching sustainable farming practices within a residential community committed to hands-on learning and open-handed service.
About usWe aim to create generations of farmers skilled at regenerative farming practices which aim to enhance the farm ecosystem, rather than exhaust it. Sustainable farming helps improve the resiliency of the land, the health of the food we eat, and the biodiversity of this beautiful land we’ve been given.
Empower School is a purpose-driven organization that will serve the long-term good of the Tennessee Valley and beyond. Our aim is for the program to be financially self-sustaining so we can continue to serve the community for decades to come. We do this through community outreach opportunities for students, local food distribution and donation, and a commitment to training a generation of farmers in sustainable agriculture that will preserve farmland around the globe.
Students at Empower School are given the opportunity to deepen their faith and relationships within their community through acts of service, and shared daily spiritual disciplines. In Phase 2 of our program, we will open our doors to the Greater Knoxville community at the Sustainable Community Center and Lodge at Valley Dream Farm. We envision a space for gathering, learning, and hospitality that is open to all.
God invited his people to know and work with him in a garden. We, too, seek to cultivate personal growth and resilient relationships through shared practices of worship, prayer, and study. We believe farming is a common ground through which we can help students explore their curiosity in Christianity or deepen their faith.
